Exciting News! Puppies expected!!!

We have an exciting announcement to make! Very exciting opportunity for both Heather and I! Kathy suggested that we do a co-breeding and Miss Priscilla is expecting a litter around Thanksgiving!

Priscilla was bred to MBIS/BISS GCh Heart of Gold Power Play, aka "Powell". Powell was a Number 1 Cardigan, Best Stud Dog CWCCA 2010 National, AOM Westminster 2009 and 2010. On paper, this is a repeat breeding that produced Will Smith Jacob who was Reserve Winners Dog and Best Puppy at the 2010 National.

Priscilla is mom to Tollar, who won the 12-18 month class at the 2010 National.

I can say that for myself, I am beyond excited about this opportunity! Thank you Heather for letting me be apart of this and thank you Kathy for helping us!! Pretty sure I am forever in debt to you :)

This will be a huge learning process for me... though it's been overwhelming at times, I look forward to what the future will bring :) Here's hoping to a happy, beautiful, awesome litter :)

Yes.. it's pear season. Chuck has this big pear tree in the yard and originally it was there for his deers etc for the Upstate NY property. Well, he thought wrong because last year we learned that Cardigans apparently love pears.

Cooper is the smart one as he knows that if there are none on the ground then he can just jump and shake the branches that are low enough to get some pears. However, Blue wonder over here is convinced that by barking at it, it will rain pears. He has this logic simply b/c one day when he was barking at the tree demanding it's fruits be rained on himself, Cooper got sick and tired of his yapping. Coop jumped up, shook the low branches and of course it rained pears. The pears however bonked Blue wonder in the head which left him a bit more disgruntled. Now you can see why he thinks barking at pear tree = pear mania.

Good thing about pear season?? HELPS ME KEEP WEIGHT ON BLUE WONDER!!! He has been eating well lately! We're doing a partial raw diet. 1 cup Fish Orijen in the AM with his supplements, 4oz Satin ball in the afternoon for training and then dinner is his natures variety Venison medallions! Supplemented with Pears from the yard too!

In other news, started the new job this week! So far so good. Certainly have to adjust to the whole office environment thing, but no big deal. Happy for the consistent weekly paycheck and job stability :)

Next weekend will be the Macungie show! Can't wait!! Dawn and I will be driving down probably around 4:30pm and hopefully get to the hotel and meet up with Kate by 9pm! Woot woot!! Cardi mania here we come ;)

I know, I have been slacking.

So for updates. Uno went Reserve to the Major last Saturday at West Springfield. I was really happy with him! He was such a good boy and showed really well for me. Looking forward to Macungie for sure!!

Today we took a trip to Quechee Gorge in White River Junction, VT ! Boys had a great time and it was just a perfect day for the trip!

Today also marks Chuck and I's 2 yr anniversary! Woo hoo! Can't believe we are getting married next October.. ahhh.. excitement and being overwhelmed all smooshed together for feelings about that haha.

Oh.. and because Fall is right around the corner.. that means PEAR season is starting. The boys have started collecting their pears and feasting. At least that will be one way for Uno to stay within the weight that I'd like him to be in! hahaha Anybody else have Cardis addicted to pears? You should see them. They knock the pears off the tree by jumping up and shaking branches etc. Pretty smart!

I don't suppose the neighbors would find me too amusing if I had decided to blow out Uno's coat with our new blower at 5 this morning. Instead I opted to take the boys rollerblading around a few blocks and then bathe the blue dog. 7am seems like a better choice to blow him out no? ;) RISE AND SHINE PEOPLE!!

We didn't do anything yesterday at the show. Today I opted to have Sarah (his breeder) show him for me so I can see if he is better in the ring with somebody else. And I'd also like to see from an outsiders point of view of how he looks in the ring in comparison to other Cardis. I certainly will be able to learn from this situation. And I almost feel as maybe with me he's too mushy and isn't as sharp as he should be when with someone else. So today, Sarah's showing him. And next weekend Chuck's mom is going to show him all weekend at W Spfld! 4 pt major from what I hear for next weekend!! YAH!! Let's go blue dog let's go!! I am okay with the thought of having someone else show him.. I just don't want to be the one keeping him from earning his points. So figure may as well see how he does and go from there . Can't hurt to try out my options!!

In other news.. in laws to be approve of 3rd Cardi addition. We are opting for a puppy.. just waiting for the right one to come around. Right now this moment is not a good time to bring in a dog because of my respiratory issue. I cannot express how frustrating it was for me to be so winded, short of breath and WHEEZING after rollerblading around the block with the boys this AM. Better than 2 wks ago.. so we are improving slowly. The problem is I am usually able to run miles on end with out being winded!!!! People that know me well are really disturbed to hear that I have no lung capacity at the moment. It is disturbing. And worst of all, severely frustrating. Yesterday was the most I've done (activity wise) in 2 weeks. I was so drained by the time we got home from the show I developed a heinous headache and was useless the rest of the day. You'd think the way I am right now that I was severely deconditioned and had some kind of chronic smoking problem.. Yep no. Clear lungs from x rays, and fabulous heart supposedly according to the cardiogram. Docs have not a clue as to what's wrong... Anyways, I'm improving so.. had to resign from my position working at the jewelery store due to what I believe is the main cause of this respiratory issue. So we'll see.. job hunting again. I hope the previous interviews I went on will pay off and someone will call me back. Certainly there are quite a few good options that I interviewed with.. so I'm willing to take whatever! This tues I have an interview at the vet office near by.. so maybe that could work as well! SIGH.

On the bright side, CHUCK GOT THE JOB at westover airbase!! As one of their main electricians!! HOORAH!!! ;)

Okay time to groom and make food and then off I go to Fitchburg! Wish us luck!!! I will be playing paparazzi and video'ing today :)

Am I the ONLY person in the world who has a Cardi who is a finicky eater? WHO DOESN'T finish satin balls or chicken thigh? Other Corgs would die to eat the amount of food you get blue dog.. UGH

Though I love you to death Blue dog... BUT, YOU DRIVE ME INSANE SOME TIMES!!!

That was a pic Chuck got of him yesterday... He was kind of blah yesterday compared to usual. We worked on trotting up and down the street with distractions etc.

Waiting for all our grooming supplies to come in! Should be in today. Blower is en route.

Anybody doing the Chesapeake Specialty show in October? I'd really like to go! It's in MD!

Dremmeling was interesting to say the least. At least the nails got done! Took both of us to do it but it's done. It wasn't so much Uno screaming or anything.. he really didn't make blood curdling noises.. it was just that he is such a worm and he was freaking out. It's okay, just need to work on it and I suspect he will eventually become desensitized.. or one could at least hope so ha!

In other news.. hopefully the docs will figure out what the heck is wrong with me today!! I have not been able to run, work out, or do ANYTHING since Wednesday. Stall/crate rest, har har har. Not so funny. I feel 100% minus the horrid chest pains, inability to breathe properly due to my lungs feeling as if they were filled with water, light headed/dizziness, and so on. The tests showed I was 100% healthy.. yet I feel this terrible. I suspect black mold... due to a similar reaction from before when dealing with it. Black mold in one of the places I work at that is. NOT at home.

Well until then.. we shall see! Stay tuned!

we are getting bamboo wood floors for the living room and dining room as well as an area rug! in addition to that we are also getting new floor for the kitchen!

and... path to us becoming a tri corg family may just become a reality after all! :) excite excite!

can't wait for fitchburg next weekend and then west Springfield!

desire my respiratory issues.. things are going well! we will get more info on what's wrong with me on Monday follow up appointment. but for now the doc says my hearts in great shape as are my lungs. what gives!? Rawr

is that Mrs. K ( mother in law to be ) is super excited to show Uno at West Springfield this month for me!

Chuck brought Uno and Cooper (along for the ride) for Uno's follow up lyme booster and also had him weighed. He came in at 37lbs yesterday!! 3 lbs up since his last visit 2 wks ago. I think he is almost where he needs to be. Still has a very obvious waist line etc. He does seem to be getting sick of satin balls.. hmm maybe I'll change it to chicken after this batch runs out?

Anyways. The vet mentioned to Chuck about how excited Chuck's mom is to be showing again. She is already shopping for clothes to show in ;) hehe. I am so excited for her to be back in the ring again. She hasn't shown for a few years now after she retired her Basenjis but it will be great to get her back in there again. We know how much she loves it! Yahhh! Who's going to be showing at W Springfield at the end of this month? I'll be showing him on Saturday and she's doing Sunday.. was hoping maybe somebody would be around to help Chuck and Barb out etc just in case of any questions etc.

In other news.. I am really really really jonesing for a black.. or blue female pup! AHhhhhhhhhhhh Fingers crossed for January for the new addition ;)

Good news. We have progress! Perhaps a 3rd one will be coming to us for early 2011 after all !?

In other news... does anyone have the problem of getting their dog to finish all their food? He gets 1 cup orijen AM and PM. and 1 4oz satin ball AM and PM. I'm thinking of breaking up the foods through out the day in hopes that he can maybe eat everything??

Chuck is bringing him to the vet this AM for his follow up booster for Lyme.. and is going to weigh him. I guess we'll see how much progress we've made since the last weigh in 2 weeks ago.

In other news.. MACUNGIA, PA SHOW!! Everyone should come :) it will be a blast!!!

Matchmade? dog show family

Handling class went well tonight! Our trainer said Uno is definitely looking much better already in just a week and I mentioned that he is now eating satin balls in addition to his food. She said maybe 1/2 -1lb more and he should be where he needs to be! Woo hoo!!

Chuck helped with class today and acted as a judge and went over all the dogs (except Uno.) and helped with a lot of dogs who are not used to men. Everyone went over everybody elses dogs to help build confidence.. it definitely helped. Then we switched handlers and Uno was not happy to be separated from me haha but he put on a show and paraded happily and proudly.. as usual. It did give me a chance to see him move and he is moving a lot better now in comparison to last year!

We keep getting loads of complements on how great of shape he is in and how he is so muscular (especially his hind end!). In addition to that, they love his personality- so happy, full of it, and friendly.

Very excited for Fitchburg! Paid for the entrees today.. for Sat & Sun. Will be entering Uno at West Springfield for the end of this month at all.. however I will only be showing him Fri and Sat.. and then Chuck's mom is going to show him for me on Sunday :)

I don't know if I have mentioned it before but.. Chuck grew up ringside at dog shows b/c his mom bred and showed Basenjis. Her male that she bred and campaigned ended up being Top 3 in the breed in the country! In addition to the breed ring she did obedience as well as a bit of lure coursing with them. Pretty neat! So it is quite nice to have a dog show savvy fiance.. and dog show savvy mother in law :) I thought I'd ask her if she'd like to show Uno for me that Sunday at the W Spfld show this month and she is quite excited about it! Yay :)

For next month.. MACUNGIE, PA show!! Weekend of Sept 18/19th! Who's going!? I got convinced into doing it by Kathy (not that it took much convincing)... and she's trying to build a major! Let's get a group of us to go!! Cardi party :) Entries aren't closed until Sept 1st so we still have a month to plan etc!

That's about it! Blue dog is doing well.. still full of himself. Can't wait to go visit at Keene this Sunday too!

Hi Everyone

I have been thinking about acquiring a third Cardi in the future. A main concern that Chuck has is if we were to get a female, would the boys fight more now that a female would be in the house.. especially when she goes into season?

Cooper is neutered, Uno is not. They rarely fight and if they do it's a small spat over a bone or toy. I guess that my concern is would it be a bad idea to introduce a female to our pack (in the future) or would it not really be a problem?

For all you multiple dog households out there that have 2 males and 1 female or 2 males 2 females etc (you get the idea).. how are they around one another?

Cooper is 3, Uno is 2 now. They are very well behaved and great around other dogs. Around other females they are fine too.. but I guess I'm concerned on whether or not their behaviors may change if we were to bring a female home? Or should I just stick to having males?

Thoughts and Input would be much appreciated! Thanks Guys!!

He is always so happy to jump on the table! Can't wait for me to give him a boost on there!

This afternoon we worked on free stacking and learning "step up" -- which he caught on real quick too! So smart this boy is! Then we had a few goes on the table. He is always so excited when we go near the table.. starts wiggling and wagging that tail like a mad man :) So I guess that's a good thing huh? We're certainly getting more and more confident on there so I am so pleased with that! Hopefully come Fitchburg he will be more solid on there! In addition to all this we did some gaiting by trotting up and down our street with kids playing, cars driving by, and many other distractions! All of which did not phase him at all! Yay Uno! So proud of him and really cannot wait to show him!!

I guess the dog show world is quite different in comparison to the horse world. When I was showing at the national level with Profit, we showed conservatively. We did 4 shows tops each year. 1 qualifier for regionals if he needed to qualify.. but mostly just to get him in the ring once before regionals.. then we'd do a Large A rated like Buckeye and then Regionals followed by nationals. Or we'd do 2 regionals and then nationals. I was told by many that for dogs it's the complete opposite! To go out there and get exposed etc. So this is something will have to get used to, but that's fine with me! Makes sense I guess - the more you're seen, the better? As long as we deserve to be in there.. and aren't beating a dead horse (no pun intended).

The satin balls seem to give Uno supercharged energy post meal... or so he thinks. He turns into a rocket and blasts around like a maniac after. Poor Cooper longingly stares at Uno eating his gigangic meals... Cooper is the kind of dog that looks at food and probably gains weight! Maybe this has to do with him being neutered now? Or is that just a myth? Both boys are super active.. but Uno seems to be hard to put weight on... perhaps I should go do a weigh in this week to see if much has changed.. b/c certainly to me I don't see much of a difference.

Mission Convince Chuck to let me get a pup sooner rather than later is in progress -- his wedding gift to me ;D I would love love love to have a third Cardi for early 2011? Hmmmm.. we'll see :)

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been absent for so long. I know I've been neglecting this blog but I figured it's time to start up again.

Been very busy lately with working 2 jobs. Personal Training and also now a sales associate for a very awesome jewelry company in Auburn, Ma ;)

The boys have been great. We've brought them to the summer home in Ithaca/Lansing once this summer already and they were so happy to be back there. I swear it's like a dogs dream there! Lake front house on Cayuga Lake in NY! 50 acres to roam!

Uno has been doing very well.. We are starting back at handling class tonight in Agawam with Cathy.. and then starting obedience class next week! I will upload pictures of him stacked on the table in a separate post.

We're looking to do Fitchburg as well as West Springfield next month! Hope to see everyone there!!!

Exciting news.... I AM ENGAGED!!!! On Cinco De Mayo this year ;) and we will be getting married October 2nd of 2011 in Sturbridge, MA at the Publick House!!! Very exciting!!!!! I have managed to convince Chuck to let me get a 3rd Cardi as my wedding gift ;) I hope he means a literal dog.. and not a cake shaped like a Cardi. Hmmmmmm Yes I will post pictures of the bling ;)

AND!! This past weekend I bought the Corgi-mobile aka an ELEMENT!! It's a 2010 Element EX! Bright orange and I am in love! Ordered my magnet to represent our breed yesterday! Same thing as Holly's! (thank you for helping me with ordering it!!). Cannot wait!

My best friend Sarah came to visit us today for the weekend. We grew up together for the past uh.. gosh.. since 2000 riding and showing Arabians at the national level together. Way too alike. And sometimes I think she and chuck share the same brain?? creepy. Anyways.. they both were too excited to give me this gift that Sarah got for me. I was scared.. and well..

Does that give you an idea as to how big this GUMMY BEAR IS!??!?! It is 5lbs. HUGE. Green. And it's over 12,000 calories! ahahahaha I don't know what the heck to do with it!

I love gummys and all.. but this is going to give me nightmares.

I have to vent. I'm a bit peeved. And by peeved I mean Irate. And by Irate I mean I want to just scream.

THE MORE I get to know these people that are around me that call themselves this friend word? The more I like dogs.. horses.. chinchillas.. hamsters.. or even gold fish for that matter.

Really. Do people have morals these days? DO THEY EVEN KNOW WHAT THIS WORD MEANS!? What is friendship to you? Trust? Loyalty? wtf!! Is this even thought of these days? How about boundaries?

Dogs love you unconditionally. Dogs don't hurt you. They don't do things in a malicious way to hurt you and think it's TOTALLY FINE. At least mine don't. I am so disgusted.

I learned yesterday evening during dinner that a "FRIEND" of mine decided that it was totally kosher to sleep around with my ex boy friend that I dated for 2 and a half yrs. It was a horrible horrible relationship. It is not yet confirmed that she and him cheated on me during the relationship but we are suspicious b/c of the way he reacted to certain confrontations and what they decided to do. I let it all slide.. all the flirting.. all that creepy shady stuff b/c i trusted this "friend".

Well I was right after all. At least I get to say I told you so to myself. I'm glad i"m not stupid. BUT REALLY YOU THOUGHT IT WAS TOTALLY APPROPRIATE TO SLEEP WITH MY EX!!??? HOW IS THIS RIGHT!? BEHIND YOUR HUSBANDS BACK!! WHO IS ALSO FRIENDS WITH HIM!!! Like I'd never find out?!! I already had no respect for the ex. But now you. This "friend" character.

This is why I am disgusted with people and their behaviors. How is this at all admirable?! WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE. I even went out of my way to try help this individual achieve a goal she wanted to do b/c she didn't have the money for this event.

Thing is. Jokes on you my "friend". Jokes on you. You are so unhappy with yourself that you have to go sleep around to make yourself feel better? At least I'm not the one married to a man who sleeps with everything and anything that has a pulse.

I am so angry not because of my ex. I could care less about him and what he does because I no longer have to deal with his psychotic tendencies. But because of the fact that I trusted somebody and considered them a "friend" and they have let me down.

Yea.. you really won the lottery there. Congratulations on confirming my suspicions. You found a real winner. Good luck with life.

I think Uno has kennel cough. :(

He's recovered since last week.. no more exploding bum syndrome or vomitting. HOWEVER.. I did start to notice that he would start random coughing fits at night. Figured maybe it was from being sick last week.. it only happens in the evenings... Yesterday it came out of no where when we were all in bed sleeping and he had an episode. It really made me nervous because he started to panic too! I think it's kennel cough. not sure HOW/where he got it?? We weren't at class last tuesday. He hasn't been in contact with other dogs asides from Coop since the dog show in Providence.

Coop had caught it when he was a puppy from other dogs... but that was over 2 yrs ago. I think it was similar symptoms?

He has been coughing, backwards sneezing, dry heaving'ish? = Kennel cough ??

Going to make an appointment for him at the vet.

sigh.. Poor doggle.

Poor Uno is not feeling too well today :( Explosive bum syndrome along with vomitting. He isn't as bouncy as he usually is and Chuck came home to two different messes today :( It's possible he ate something that is not agreeing with his stomach. Poor lil guy. He is drinking lots of water though so that is good. He had me so worried and I felt so bad!! :(

On a brighter note. I've never met a dog that was a diva until...... I got Uno. He is so dramatic. He thinks he's hott, and thinks he is doG. Uno thinks he rules the world.

One dramatic example: @ the thanksgiving cluster his breeder helped me trim his pad fur and you would have thought we were ripping out his toe nails out one by one with pliers... or basically torturing the dog b/c he was screaming bloody murder. It was so pathetic yet funny.

Anyways moving on with my story. This song has been on the radio for a little while now and Chuck and I both agree that it screams Uno. "Tick Tock" by Ke$sha.

If you've heard the song you may know what i'm talking about. We picture him strutting down the streets of Manhattan rocking out to this song with his strut.

Are there better foods out there for my boys than this?

There is a store near us that sells Orijen.. and I've heard that Orijen is a great brand?

What about Wellness Core.. the protein focused grain free?

Any thoughts and suggestions??

We're home from the show!

We had a great time at the show this weekend! We didn't get any points BUT it was a positive experience for both of us. Uno was such a good boy and I had a great time showing him! We received a lot of complements on Uno and got a lot of positive feedback. The judge on Saturday came up to us saying that she really likes him and that he just needs to body up. I am totally fine with this as I know that he is young and is process of growing up.

All mommy wants for christmas is for Uno to grow up hahahah.

My aunt and uncle drove down from Suffield, CT to come watch us show on Saturday which was so nice! It was the first time they met Uno too. My Aunt is currently dog hunting :) She used to have a GSP but he passed away a few years ago.. and my Uncle had a Chocolate lab that passed away recently. They want a medium sized dog that doesn't shed TOO much. I think coming to the show was a great idea because they got to see so many different breeds.

Congratulation so Linda who owns Lithium (Uno's full sister), and to Sarah (our breeder) on Lithium finishing her Championship today!!! So exciting!! :)

Providence was a lot of fun. We went to a really nice Italian Restaurant on Saturday night and on Friday night we went to a small bistro and saw a man that looked identical to the Six Flags dancing old man. Creepy.

While being in RI, we got the first snow of the season! I hate the cold...... but Uno had a blast romping around in it at night.

Next show we're planning to attend will be Fitchburg in January! Very excited!

I'm not upset about not winning anything because this is all so new to me and I am learning as we go. What is good about this all is that everyone said Uno is definitely finishable! So we are not going to give up! Perseverance!!

On to the next show!

OH YEAH!! Can't forget! Chuck got me my first pair of Cardigan Welsh Corgi socks! They are too cute!! :)

And........ he has given me the okay for more cardis and to get another puppy... exciting...

Butt fro/RIDGES

Help help help help... Uno has some major butt fros/ ridges... Don't believe me? See pic for reference.

Any tips or advice on how to tame it? When I blew him out after his bath today it was fine.. and then it just got progressively worse as the day progressed.

We show tomo at 9am.... Just re blow dry in the AM??

Any tips would be much appreciated to make it look less maniacal.

But I haven't had any wine.......

Is it bad when you feel like you've had quite a few glasses of wine but you are 110% sober and haven't been near wine for days?? That's how I felt last night after making an attempt to go out to Sushi Thursdays with our friends. Not the best of ideas really. It was followed by a lot of dizziness and lightheadedness. Good thing I have cling-on Uno to make sure I don't fall in the toilet and drown.

Today will be spent bathing dogs.. packing Cooper's stuff so he will be all set to go for Chuck's parent's for the weekend.. and then packing our stuff and all of Uno's stuff for the show..

Then away we go!! Hope this show goes well! I'm excited.

What's there to do in Providence, RI anyway? We are hoping to catch that movie "Brothers".

BTW. Got the show premium for Fitchburg... anybody going??? I'm hoping to do at least Saturday and Sunday.

Anywho! I'll be taking lots of pics this weekend and will keep everybody up to date!

Cardi Personalities

Now that I'm feeling less like I got hit by a tractor trailer and more like me again, I am here typing away.

I've been meaning to post this for a while but kept forgetting. It has to do with Cardi personalities.

Does everyone else feel like they have no privacy what so ever b/c their cardi is attached to their hip? Literally? I could be in the bathroom and Uno will bust open the door just to be there with me. If he's outside in the AM and hasn't seen me yet since he's been out, he will whine and whine and whine until he sees me. If I'm on the comp, he's at my feet. Anywhere I go and whatever I do.. hahaha there he is, right there waiting for me.

Coop seems to be more independent but still follows both Chuck and I around.

I'm not complaining by any means but I was curious to see if everyone else goes through this too?

I've never had a female Cardi before so I am not sure what their personalities are like. I had a female Siberian and she was so independent she was far from a velcro dog.

Chuck says when I'm sleeping (dogs sleep in their dog beds in our room) Uno will peep up over the bed on my side to make sure I'm alive.. or if I'm snoring he peeps up and pokes me in the face with his nose. One time I even woke up to Uno's nose IN my mouth. That was far from pleasant. Actually it was kind of disturbing.

Oh these dogs.. they're too amusing!

Whatever it is that hit me like a freight train last night is god awful! It started with horrible stomach pains in the AM so I stayed home from classes... all was well through out the day and I went to Handling class with Uno. Noticed that I got unusually hot during class but didn't think to much of it. As I drove home I noticed that I started to feel crummy...

On the bright side, I came home to a completely dark house. Odd I thought considering I thought Chuck would be home with Coop. Well we walked in the house and after putting down my stuff from dog training I saw the dining room lit with candles! Chuck had cooked a wonderful candle lit dinner and poured a nice glass of wine.

Unfortunately, I basically couldn't stomach the wine.. and after eating got worse and worse.

the rest of the night? Was spent running to the bathroom puking like nobodys business... until 430am today. NOT A GOOD TIME.

And just when I thought I had thrown up everything possible in my system? And away we go again when I decided to get some fresh air at lunch time. Ran straight to the bathroom and that toilet became a dear friend. Corgis were concerned.

THIS IS HORRIBLE. Whatever this is. h1n1 or whatever flu. I have to be in Providence on Friday to get ready for the dog show with Uno!!! This is not how I want to spend my weekend. Ughhhhhhhhhhh

the only thing I've managed to keep down would be saltines, fudgicles and some gingerale. The soup was iffy and water helps too sometimes... peptobismal does not stay down at all.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a great time!

Black friday was hectic considering we live right near the Holyoke Mall. People are pretty crazy!

We have a show coming up next weekend in Providence RI. Still have to book our hotel room for Fri & Sat evening. Can't wait to do it all again! It was so fun last week :)

Quick question for everybody! Since Christmas is near by, I'm trying to figure out what is the best kind of blower to get?? I've never had one before which is why I'm seeking advice so I don't end up with a crummy one that will break a little ways down the road. I was hoping that perhaps this could be my gift from my mom.

Dog news aside, I got a msg from the trainer at the barn that I have Profit at with wonderful news. A little 7 yr old girl is interested in leasing Profit for next show season :) I am so happy about this b/c this is the girl that I originally had in mind that I wanted to lease him out to if she and her family ever decided they wanted to lease a horse. She does walk, trot, canter but would be competing in the walk trot division here locally.. possibly regionals next year too depending on how they do. I really hope this works out b/c it would be so cute to see Profit truck her around the ring. He's been there, done that and now I think its time for him to show a little kid how it's done :) Fingers crossed this lease goes through b/c I will be one proud momma of my boy!

And Chuck thought he could sleep in on Turkey day??

This AM when getting ready for school I was making lunch. This rarely happens b/c Chuck usually cooks for me :) BUT this week he is in Ithaca/Lansing.. Hunting Bambis.. and bringing me home some sweet delicious Finger Lakes Wine ;D

So Anyways... I proceeded to put the marinated chicken breast in the rotisserrie.. It seemed to come out okay.. Until I tried to reheat it for Lunch today. IT SUCKED. Looks like the dogs have some treats for them while I'm stuck eating ezekiel bread and egg whites :( boring. CHuck needs to come home asap so I can eat real foods again.. and not plain jane body building bland food. Not that i mind.. but I would like to eat something yummy... hmmph.

Coop & Uno are outside playing in the yard... and feasting on what is left of the pears from the tree.

I really really would like to bring them to a herding lesson some time as I think that they'd both have a blast! I REALLY think Coop would be awesome! Uno... him too but he's one of those dogs that thinks he was bred to be pretty and doesn't do much that involves getting dirty.. or do much labor. He is after all... Denny Crane.. in Cardi form. Anywho maybe this Sunday we can go visit Julie at her Herding lesson. That would be fun :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!! But for now.. I must get to cleaning more before Charles gets home... it looks like the cardis have taken over. I'll just blame them ;)

We're back

We had a great time at the show this weekend!

I was so proud of Uno b/c he was so well behaved! Minus his vocalness... haha. We met a ton of cardi people and it was awesome! I got a lot of complements on Uno which makes me really excited as well as really happy :)

He got his first ribbon ever! A 3rd in the 12-18mos dog. class on Saturday. And then sunday he got a fourth! I'm hoping that as time progresses he will be a little bit LESS bouncy ;) but that's just Uno. Perhaps some rollerblading in the early morning prior to the class would be a good idea for him.

I know what we have to work on before our next show (Providence, RI on Dec 4th & 5th).

I want to thank everyone who came to support us! Friends and family and new acquaintances!

You guys are awesome and I look forward to meeting more Cardi folk and learning more about this wonderful awesome breed !!!

Pre show ramblings

Went to watch the cardis show this AM @ the Thanksgiving Cluster. Met up with Holly and watched her show Magnet and Star! I also got to meet Julie! Congrats Holly!

After the cardis showed we walked around and shopped a bit. I got a new slip lead earlier in the AM and then some stuff for grooming :)

Can't wait for tomorrow even if I'm a bit nervous b/c it'll be our first time out!

I gave Uno a bath this afternoon.. safe to say, he has a coat. He is a poof! But he was soo good to bathe, blow dry and groom ;) I'm hoping for Christmas this year I get a blower ;) hint hint Chuck Hint hint......

We are meeting up with Sarah (uno's breeder) tonight too.

So we're on at 8am tomorrow for the Sweepstakes class then the regular class is at 9! Wish us luck :) Going to do our very bestest and see what the judge thinks of Uno dog.

Kind of feel bad

Chuck and I went to the mall today for a quick bite to eat after the gym.. and of course as usual we wander over to the pet store. I always visit the bunnies and the hamsters and then we look at the pups just for fun. I always feel so bad for the pups there b/c they are confined to such a tiny space. Unfortunately, there was a Pemmie there who has been there for a few wks now.. and they've dropped the price. Chuck asked them if we could play with him and they instantly told us he was a nibbler. Well gee, most puppies ARE?! We played with the lil man for a while and he was such a sweetheart. I don't by any means want to promote petshop pups as I know they're usually from puppy mills.. but I really do hope that this sweet little guy finds a good home.

Chuck has agreed to let me have 4 Corgis in total (plus or minus a Sibe in there! that i'd like to rescue).. and I"m so happy about that.. puppies are so fun.. but such a pain in the bum at the same time! Can't wait for that time again when we can get another ;) I'm hoping for a nice female for our next acquisition.

Corgi Mania in NH

Yesterday was a great time at the Kingston State Park in Kingston, NH. There were approximately 20 corgis? and 2 bassets! What was cool was we weren't the only cardis there! Met 3? or so other Cardis! Uno and Cooper seemed to stick with them for the most part. Uno then thought he was in love with a fem. pemmie. She wanted nothing to do with him of course! Oh Unrequited love! hahaha

Cooper took advantage of the lake at the park and went swimming! Uno went with him as well!

It was great to let all the Corgis frolic together! (And this was Chuck's first time seeing a large amount of Corgis.. all at once!)

Tomorrow is our handling class.. I'm hoping to get some good feedback from our trainer and some tips for the show this coming weekend! Theres tons of cardis!! So nervous but yet so excited!

Quick blogging before we're off to dinner.

Chuck recently purchased a nice black 05' tahoe. His mom took the words right out of my mouth. "Oh this would be PERFECT for dog shows!!!" Little does Chuck know.. that is exactly what I plan on doing... grand thefting his truck for dog shows. hehehe I call it the Corgi Mobile. (he just isn't aware of this yet). Uno and Cooper both claim it already and love it.

Not that there's anything wrong with my ridgeline.. but the tahoe would just work better.. for shows and such!

Today I had a great time chatting with Holly. I learned some neat stuff about the Merle gene and genetics also! Thanks for your time :)

Tomorrow we're off to NYC to watch my best friend compete at Worlds for her figure competition.. and then Sunday is the Corgi meet in Kingston, NH! WOoo!!

exciting news

Chuck has agreed to let me have 4 dogs. What does that mean?! It means I can get another cardi in the future and for the other available spot I'd like to adopt a Siberian. I miss having them around and I really want to do for one of these dogs, what somebody did for one of mine when I had to rehome them when I was younger. I miss him every day and have tried to track him down.. but no luck. My aunt said that last she heard though, he was doing well.

Chuck came to watch us today and I hintedddddddddd. Don't think he caught on as he tried to pawn off Uno to our trainer. I think he'd get trampled by all her St. Bernards.

It's been a while since I last posted... we've been doing well though! Practicing with the table and setting up on the ground. Uno has been doing great! Just still have to get him to be more confident with himself on the table. I think part of it has to do with me b/c I am nervous about screwing something up.. which usually leads to me actually screwing up by.. ie. forgetting to control his head when I move his feet if they need to be adjusted! Grrrr...

I'll have to get some updated shots of him! 3 wks until showtime at the thanksgiving cluster! can't wait! Uno's siblings will be showing as well :)

I found out today from one of my teachers that I DO have the last 2 wks off in April which means...... I CAN GO TO NATIONALS!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO!

Apparently Uno's new thing is talking.. CONSTANTLY. Needs to be the center of attention at all times.

We went to the show this AM to watch all the cardis show! It was a good time. Uno was SO talkative. I was a bit embarrassed by his behavior b/c this was something NEW? He didn't do this last time. Thanks Uno.

Can't wait to get in the ring! I think it will be a blast :) I definitely want to do the thanksgiving cluster shows in Springfield.. and there's another show in December that's in Rhode Island that I'd like to do as well. We'll seeeeeee. Bark.

Show bug

Maybe I caught the bug when I was younger but all I know is that I am addicted to showing (and learning).

Now that I'm not showing horses much anymore... I've turned back to the world of dogs and am learning to show in the breed ring. I'd like to eventually get involved with agility in the future as well as rally obedience. I think it'd be fun! As long as I can compete in something? That'll do!

Cooper, I plan on taking to obedience classes and agility classes in the near future. He's such a sweet heart and I think that Chuck will have a blast working with him too.

Uno is my project. I got him last year after US Nationals with the intent to have him shown... life got in the way and we have yet to make our debut in the ring. HOWEVER, we do have plans to make our debut at the Thanksgiving cluster shows in West Springfield the week before Thanksgiving. Can't wait! I hope to learn as much as possible in handling class and from Sarah (his breeder) and others before we show. Here's to a good time!

Tomorrow we're meeting up with his breeder at the show to talk about our plans for Uno etc. Yay! I'm so excited.

Our current mission is to conquer the table and become completely comfortable on it. Uno that is... not me.

Today I took a trip over to the eastern states expo to watch the show. I saw some beautiful Cardis! And some beautiful Siberian Huskies. Can't wait until tomorrow.
