Help help help help... Uno has some major butt fros/ ridges... Don't believe me? See pic for reference.
Any tips or advice on how to tame it? When I blew him out after his bath today it was fine.. and then it just got progressively worse as the day progressed.
We show tomo at 9am.... Just re blow dry in the AM??
Any tips would be much appreciated to make it look less maniacal.
I safety pin a hand towel over Traum after I bathe him. He's not a show dog, but he'll develop RINGLETS (serious!) in a couple spots on his bum, and it bugs me ;) The towel holds down the hair while it dries.
ReplyDeleteThis is what a lot of people do, safety pin, or just drape a towel over them on the table until they're dried.
I had a Bitch with a major butt wave - My good friend is a pro handler and we call her the master groomer. She taught me to sritz the hair wet, massage in a small amount of mousse. Hold the nozzle of you blower at the dogs neck pointed down the back so it is blowing the hair straight. Then brush waves straight as you dry. Keep this up until the hair is completely dry then towel him until you go in the ring. It really works!
ReplyDeleteYep - what Lybertygirl said! That's exactly what I do, tho I usually go without brushing them down, as the mousse, as it dries, will do it's job. Good luck with the butt wavies... Kota had them BAD! :(
ReplyDeleteWe have an identical butt over here. Not a fan.
ReplyDeletethank god for Chuck's hair product he uses! Redken did wonders in taming the butt fros!
